
AMC highest bidder for Albania's second 3G licence

AMC announced that the company has participated in the tender organized by the Electronic and Postal Communications Authority (AKEP) to grant a second 3G mobile licence in the market. Following the completion of the bid submission period and according to the official data announced by AKEP, AMC is the highest bidder. According to Capital.gr, AMC offered EUR 15 million for the licence, versus the opening price of EUR 12.5 million. Vodafone is since November 2010 the only 3G operator in Albania. AMC is owned by the Greek mobile carrier Cosmote.
