French mobile device maker Archos has launched its Smart Home pack, comprising an Android tablet, 2 mini cams, 2 motion detection tags and 2 weather tags to measure heat and humidity. The connected home platform uses Bluetooth Smart technology, enhanced by in-house teams to double the range from 10 to 20 m and tripling its capacity from 4 to 13 connected objects. The tablet can also control 433 MHz objects, used by many home automation products. Users install the Archos Smart Home and Tasker apps to operate the system. Archos will release other connected home objects this summer, including a smart plug, an alarm siren and a motion ball to detect movement. Archos Smart Home starter pack is available now for EUR 229.99/GBP199.99, extra connected objects start at EUR 29.99/GBP29.99.
