Thursday 15 August 2013 | 08:24 CET | News

Facebook claims to have over 200 million service users in Latin America, which represents nearly 18 percent of its global base. Facebook claims that six out of ten customers in Latin America visit the site each day, El Comercio reports. More than half of the Facebook users in Brazil, Mexico and Argentina log on using a smartphone or tablet.

Brazil is Facebook’s largest market in the region with over 76 million active monthly users at 30 June this year. Around 57.9 of Brazilian customers access Facebook both on PCs and mobile devices. Mexico ranks second with 47 million active monthly users, followed by Argentina with 22 million accesses on Facebook.
