Intel unveils upcoming products at developers' forum

Monday 16 September 2013 | 08:36 CET | News
Intel used its annual developers' forum to announce a multi-year plan to bring a steady cadence of new mobile hardware and software technologies to market. Intel's focus on mobile is supported by its declared strategy "to help ensure Intel architecture offers the best experience across all devices, operating environments and price point", in the words of the corporate vice president and general manager of the chipmaker's Software and Services group. Fisher cited the Intel XDK software tool, part of the new Intel HTML5 development environment, to help developers create apps that can be written once and run across multiple devices and operating environments. Fisher also introduced the latest line-up of Chromebooks using Intel processors based on the Haswell architecture, including a lead design from HP, followed by systems from Acer, Asus and Toshiba. Other mobile components were highlighted by Mobile and Communications group corporate VP and GM Hermann Eul and PC Client group senior VP and GM.
