KATZ MEDIA CONTINUES WITH PIPPIN

Wednesday 25 June 1997 | 00:00 CET | News
Katz Media (Norway), software firm and unit of Olympia Finans, finance firm, is continuing to back Apple Computer's Pippin Internet console despite the Pippin having been dropped from Apple's development table and also by Bandai (Japan), games firm. Katz Media signed an agreement with Netface Consortium (Netherlands), cable Internet and interactive TV research and distribution firm, in the week commencing 16 June 1997 for provision of Pippin KMP 2000 consoles to be used in an Internet shopping mall. Katz is also in collaboration with Apple, Thorn and MAID for development of an integrated Internet access system for Europe's 4th Communications Network which delivers the Internet to TV sets in hotel rooms without need for extra equipment. Katz is currently selling into 20 countries worldwide and has some 100k written commitments.
