Qualcomm launches AllJoyn Peer-2-Peer App Challenge

Qualcomm has announced the kick-off of the 2012 AllJoyn Peer-2-Peer App Challenge for developers. Qualcomm invites app developers to submit innovative, original apps using AllJoyn, Qualcomm Innovative Centre, the open-source, application development framework designed to enable proximity-based device-to-device communication. The developers of the winning apps will compete for total cash and prizes worth more than USD 170,000. Contest categories include best overall app, best educational app, best gaming app and best social app, as well as awards for best multi-screen experience and people's choice awards. The challenge is open to developers across China, Germany, India, Israel, South Korea, the UK and the US and entrants must be 18 years or older. Submissions will be evaluated by a panel of experts based on merits such as technology innovation and user experience. The app challenge is open for submissions until 27 December.
