SIEMENS AND MIKRON AGREE LICENSING DEAL

Siemens has agreed a licensing deal with Mikron Austria (Austria), under which Siemens will have the right to manufacture Mikron's Mifare chip system under its own brand name. The agreement will initially last for seven years, although there is an option on extending the deal. The Mifare chip system is a non-contact chip system. The market for non-contact chips is expected to experience a boom period in the coming years.
