WeeWorld extends MSN partnership to ten countries

MSN Partnership Extends to Ten Countries WeeWorld, creators of the WeeMee digital identity, which has over nine million users worldwide, today completed its Series B investment from Accel Partners and Benchmark Capital totaling $15.5 million US Dollars. The new round of investment will be used to accelerate partner integration for the travelling WeeMee and establish WeeWorld as the world's leading digital identity provider. The company has also scaled up its international presence with the extension of its partnership with MSN Messenger, the world's number one instant messaging service with over 205 million users worldwide. Users in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Norway and Sweden now join those in the United Kingdom, Spain, Holland and Belgium in being able to build their own WeeMee digital identity through MSN Messenger. WeeWorld completed its Series A round of funding in March 2005 with Benchmark Capital and has grown rapidly since, opening new offices in London and Boston, growing the WeeWorld team and extending its mobile and web product offerings. WeeWorld also completed deals with some of the largest communities and service providers within the online and mobile sectors, including MSN, Friends Reunited and Skype globally. Bruce Golden from Accel Partners will be joining the board of WeeWorld which currently includes Barry Maloney from Benchmark Capital, WeeWorld CEO Celia Francis, mobile entrepreneur Richard Emanuel and seasoned high tech operations executive George Devlin. WeeWorld is the creator of a unique service which combines the best aspects of both personalisation and social expression for online and mobile services, with every WeeMee a part of a global community growing at over 500,000 new users per month. Users easily create their unique WeeMee identity to use across all their digital communications channels - from instant messaging to email, blogging, VoIP, picture messaging and mobile IDs – and can search for other WeeMees worldwide, based on interests, looks, location, passions, enthusiasms and opinions.
