
Cisco and its Chinese partners have launches a series of initiatives for the Chinese market. These initiatives seek to support local innovation, the country’s ongoing transformation, as well as the growth of local economies and businesses. Cisco plans to invest over USD 10 billion over the next several years to support this strategy.
Cisco signed a MoU with China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) to expand investment in China, focusing on areas of innovation, equity investment, R&D and job creation. Cisco has also signed a MoU with the Association of Universities (Colleges) of Applied Science (AUAS), which was established under the guidance of China’s Ministry of Education, to advance the training of information and communications technology talent. Through the existing Cisco Networking Academy Program, Cisco will invest in a 4-year program with 100 universities (colleges) of applied science recommended by AUAS.
