Orange Luxembourg offers FTTR connectivity to Livebox customers

Orange announced that it has become the first operator in Luxembourg to introduce FTTR (Fibre To The Room) connectivity. This service extends multi-gigabit performance through the use of nearly invisible cabling. Livebox fibre customers can now benefit from FTTR as part of their existing package at the same monthly rate. Subscribers are responsible for the cost of the FTTR equipment and the associated labour for installation, which varies depending on individual requirements.

Post Luxembourg has concluded negotiations on a new three-year collective labour agreement with trade union organisations. Orange Luxembourg posts 15% EBITDA increase in H1, lifts operating and net profit

Orange Luxembourg has reported improved profitability for the six months to June, despite slightly lower revenues driven by continued weakness at its wholesale business and a decline in equipment sales. EBITDAaL rose 15 percent year-on-year to EUR 8.2 million, while operating profit increased to EUR 1.9 million, up from EUR 1.6 million in H1 2024. Over the same period, net profit climbed from EUR 1.1 million to EUR 1.9 million.

The Luxembourg government said that a crisis meeting was held on 23 July following a nationwide telecom network outage at incumbent operator Post that disrupted mobile and fixed services in the late afternoon. The disruption lasted for around four hours, with access to emergency numbers restored by early evening. As part of the incident response, the government stated that alerts issued via the LU-Alert system were delivered to Post customers with a delay due to the outage.

Orange delivered the best fixed internet performance in Luxembourg during the first half of the year, according to the latest benchmark study by internet speed test specialist Ookla.
