German IT services provider Bechtle is introducing the Index of Sovereignty (BIoS). The BIoS enables clients in the public and private sector to assess their level of digital sovereignty based on data, and to monitor how it evolves over time. M-Net discounts internet connection to EUR 10 for six months

Bavarian fibre-optic network service provider M-Net is offering internet connections in Munich, Augsburg, Erlangen, Kempten and in the districts of Dachau, Ebersberg, Erding, Fuerstenfeldbruck, Freising and Starnberg at a discounted price of EUR 9.90 for the first six months of contract. The discount applies to its Internet 250, Internet 500 and Internet 1000 plans.

NCSoft to acquire 70% stake in Germany's JustPlay

South Korean game developer NCSoft said it will acquire a 70 percent stake in JustPlay GmbH for KRW 301.6 billion (USD 202 million) as part of its strategy to expand its mobile casual gaming business. The company said it will purchase 17,696 shares in the Berlin-based firm, with the transaction expected to close on 30 April 2026. JustPlay reported sales of about KRW 247.98 billion and net income of KRW 22.66 billion in 2025, according to the company's financial disclosure.

Telefonica Germany expands 5G coverage to more areas

Telefonica Germany has expanded its 5G network to Cunnewitz, Kroeppelshagen-Fahrendorf,and Neuenhasslau. In Cunnewitz in the district of Bautzen, in Kroeppelshagen-Fahrendorf and in Neuenhasslau, the company has upgraded the mobile network to 5G. The latest expansions follow around 8,000 projects in 2025 to expand the 5G network.

Telefonica Germany extends online protection package to O2, Blau prepaid customers

Telefonica Germany said it is extending its online personal data protection package to its O2 and Blau prepaid customers. Customers can try it out free of charge for 28 days, after which the one-month Flex option costs EUR 2.49. This flexible option is billed every 28 days and renews automatically. A six-month protection package costs EUR 9.99 and the annual package costs EUR 19.99.

German sports streaming platform Dyn Media will take over the technical development of the international streaming service HBL TV, starting this summer. HBL TV is operated by the top handball league, Handball Bundesliga. Going forward, the integration of the Dyn Content Desk will enable the full automation of transmission of matches and highlights of the Handball-Bundesliga and the second handball league.

Swiss streaming service OnePlus to include RTL+ in offering from 23 March

Oneplus, the streaming service of Swiss media company CH Media, will include  RTL+ in its offering from 23 March. The OnePlus offering with RTL+ costs CHF 14.90 per month or CHF 149 per year. Henning Nieslony, Chief Streaming Officer of RTL Germany, said that the company aims to continue growing in Switzerland this year through partnerships.

European cloud communications service provider Nfon will expand its range of products for business customers at Telefonica Germany to include AI-based applications across its portfolio. Nfon  will include applications for Business Telephony, Intelligent Assistant and Customer Engagement services. The Intelligent Assistant includes, among other features, automated chat and voice bot solutions for handling recurring inquiries.

EnviaM has announced that a new data centre in Sehnde near Hannover has begun operations, developed in conjunction with energy company Avacon. Construction took approximately eighteen months and the two companies have invested some EUR 40 million in the site. The facility has an area of around 2,000 square meters and offers space for up to 28,000 servers to support business-critical IT applications for companies and public organisations in Lower Saxony.

Deutsche Telekom and its US subsidiary T-Mobile have set up the 6G Innovation Hub to develop 6G networks based on AI-native systems. Deutsche Telekom is marketing the new Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi in Germany. The smartphone is equipped with a triple camera system developed by Leica, in which the 1-inch main camera with 50 megapixels and 23 mm equivalent focal length is complemented by an ultra-wide angle lens with 50 MP and 14mm focal length, and a 200 MP periscope telephoto lens with optical zoom (75-100mm). Deutsche Telekom has developed an open platform for intelligent Radio Access Network (O-RAN) automation with Capgemini. Freenet lifts financial targets for 2028 on Waipu.tv growth

German operator Freenet has increased its financial targets for 2028 in light of changed circumstances. The company is now targeting adjusted EBITDA of at least EUR 620 million, up from a previous target of EUR 600 million, and adjusted free cash flow of at least EUR 340 million.
