KPN HR chief leaves for new job at ING

Hilde Garssen, the Chief People Officer at KPN, is leaving the Dutch operator at the end of August for a new position at the bank ING. She will become Chief HR Officer there and join the Management Board Banking. Garssen leads HR at KPN since the end of 2018 and is a board director since December 2019. Her replacement will be announced following a recruitment procedure, KPN said.

The Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy and state financing institution Invest-NL have announced a combined EUR 360 million top-up to the Deep Tech Fund (DTF), bringing its total size to EUR 610 million. The DTF targets knowledge-intensive startups and scale-ups active in fields such as photonics, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, quantum technology, and nanotechnology — sectors where long development cycles and high technical risk often make private financing difficult to secure.

Dutch bank ING is moving beyond traditional financial products with the launch of four new retail packages that also incorporate connectivity and digital lifestyle. The new tiers — ING Go, ING More, ING Extra and ING Max — are priced from EUR 4 to EUR 44.99 per month. Eurofiber revenue rises 13% to EUR 349 million in 2025

Eurofiber posted full-year 2025 revenue of EUR 349 million, a 13 percent increase compared with EUR 308 million in 2024, with growth recorded in every market. Adjusted EBITDA from core activities reached EUR 184 million, also up 13 percent from EUR 163 million the prior year. Capital expenditure exceeded EUR 200 million, directed at expanding the group's fibre-optic infrastructure. Operational cash flows remained strongly positive throughout the year.

Glaspoort to surpass 1 mln fibre connections in 2026

Dutch network operator Glaspoort expects to exceed one million fibre connections by the end of 2026, the company announced in a press release marking its fifth anniversary. Glaspoort, a joint venture of KPN and pension administrator APG acting on behalf of pension fund ABP, has already connected more than 950,000 households and businesses since its launch on 9 June 2021.

Above-the line advertising spend in the Dutch streaming market declined 8 percent year-on-year to EUR 6.6 million in April 2026, according to figures from Nielsen. Glaspoort to connect four villages in Barneveld

Dutch wholesale fibre operator Glaspoort is set to start connecting four villages in the Dutch municipality of Barneveld to its fibre network, according to a statement on the municipality's website. The work is the villages of Garderen, Stroe, Kootwijk and Kootwijkerbroek will commence at the end of June and is expected to be completed by early December 2026.

Belgian regulator launches consultation on Easy Switch rules

Belgian telecoms regulator Bipt is inviting stakeholders to provide input for a mandatory evaluation of the Easy Switch royal decree, which governs the process for switching fixed-line service providers. The consultation runs until 31 July 2026, with Bipt's final evaluation due to be submitted to the minister responsible for telecommunications and published on its website before the end of 2026.

Privacy complaints up 75% at Dutch data watchdog in 2025

The Dutch Data Protection Authority (AP) received more than 13,500 complaints and tips about potential privacy violations in 2025, a rise of 75 percent compared to 2024, according to the regulator's annual complaints report. Most complaints concerned organisations failing to respond to data access requests or refusing to delete personal data. NLziet targets 300,000 subscribers by end 2026 as prices hold steady

The Dutch OTT TV service NLziet expects to surpass 300,000 subscribers before the end of 2026, chief executive Niels Baas told the Algemeen Dagblad. The platform — a joint venture of NPO, RTL and Talpa — has recorded double-digit growth for several years and positions itself as a full alternative to television packages from Ziggo and KPN. Subscription prices will remain unchanged in 2026, though Baas does not rule out future increases as costs rise.

Dutch media spend rises 7% in April, VodafoneZiggo and Delta gain share

Media spending in the Dutch telecom sector rose 7 percent year-on-year to EUR 23.0 million in April 2026, up from EUR 21.5 million in April 2025, according to market researcher Nielsen. VodafoneZiggo increased its share of voice by 4 percentage points to 41 percent, while Odido halved its share over the same period. The figures cover above-the-line media budgets, excluding discounts and barter arrangements.
