Netia offers FTTR solution in apartment buildings

Polish operator Netia has introduced FTTR (Fibre To The Room) to its customers living in apartment buildings. The solution is based on Wi-Fi 7 equipment to strengthen the internet signal throughout the home. It costs PLN 15 monthly subscription for customers connected to plans with 1 or 2 Gbps. Netia claims it is the only operator in Poland offering the solution, which is based on a dual-band Huawei router and extender.

TIM to hike price of more landline plans by up to EUR 3/mth from July

Telecom Italia (TIM) has announced on its website that further existing landline plans will be subject to price increases of EUR 2 to EUR 2.99 a month (including VAT) starting 01 July. DRAM prices surge 70-83% in Q2, deepening smartphone industry squeeze

Mobile DRAM contract prices are set to surge sharply again in the second quarter of 2026, extending a multi-quarter cost crisis that is already forcing smartphone vendors to cut production targets and rethink memory strategies across their entire product ranges, according to market research firm TrendForce. Average selling prices for LPDDR4X mobile DRAM are projected to jump by at least 70-75 percent quarter-on-quarter in Q2 2026, while LPDDR5X pricing is expected to surge by 78-83 percent.

Polish operator Polkomtel, trading under the Plus brand, has added the iPhone 15 to its trade-in offer, which allows an upgrade after 24 months on a 36-month purchase contract. If they decide to exchange the device after the first two years for a new model, they pay PLN 299 followed by 24 monthly installments of PLN 84.72. The offer applies for the iPhone 15 128 GB model. Plus said it offers an attractive way to buy an iPhone for the first time.

Amazon to launch advertising on Prime Video in Belgium in June

Amazon.com is introducing advertising for its Prime subscribers in Belgium. In an email to customers the company said they would start seeing advertising on Prime Video from 17 June. For those who want to keep the ad-free experience, Prime will cost EUR 1.99 more each month. The current price is EUR 2.99 per month in Belgium.

Pakistani mobile operator Ufone has introduced a Social Plus Offer for customers on the local market. The operator is offering 15 GB for data traffic on social media apps alongside 500 on-net minutes for calls and 500 SMS to Ufone and PTCL numbers. The package also includes 300 off-net minutes for calls to other domestic networks.

KPN spells out maximum price hikes in updated contract terms

KPN has updated its terms and conditions in customer contracts to specify the amount of price increases beyond inflation. The new clause allows for increases per calendar year of up to 5 percent or EUR 3 above the annual inflation rate. The conditions apply for mobile and fixed customers from June.

Orange Poland opens orders for Oppo Find X9 Ultra

Orange Poland has started pre-sales of the smartphone Oppo Find X9 Ultra 5G in its shops. Customers connecting to the postpaid Plan L from the operator for 24 months are offered the device for PLN 6,459 (PLN 99 initial payment followed by PLN 265 per month). The device is offered for PLN 7,399 without the subscription contract.

Vivo X300 series debuts in Hungary via Magyar Telekom partnership

Vivo has officially partnered with Magyar Telekom, making its premium X300 Pro and X300 smartphones available through the operator. The Vivo X300 Pro, priced at HUF 493,680, comes with 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage, available in black and brown. It includes a complimentary Vivo Zeiss Telephoto Extender Kit lens and a Vivo Imaging Grip Kit that doubles as a power bank.

Bouygues Telecom ups prices of fibre-only 8 Gbps offer to EUR 27/month

French operator Bouygues Telecom has raised the monthly rate of its standalone 8 Gbps package to EUR 26.99, up by EUR 1 per month. The offer, based on the XGS‑PON standard, was last updated in early February. At that time, it was renamed 'B&You Pure Fibre Plus' at a new monthly rate of EUR 25.99 to differentiate it from the 'B&You Pure Fibre' option, which remains priced at EUR 24.99 per month with a slower download speed of up to 2 Gbps.

South Korea's SK Broadband (SKB) has developed a 5 Gbps network switch designed for school communications networks as demand grows for AI-enabled and high-bandwidth digital learning applications. The operator said the new "5Giga PoE Switch" was jointly developed with NST Information & Communication and provides 5 Gbps connectivity across 24 Ethernet ports, doubling the throughput supported by many existing PoE switches used in schools.

The cost of gigabit broadband service is slowly falling in the Netherlands. The monthly average price is down 6.3 percent in the past two years to EUR 51.28, according to the latest comparison in Telecompaper's pricing database. The launch of Ziggo's budget brand Hollandsnieuwe on the fixed broadband market in November 2025 has helped bring down the average.

Spanish e-commerce retailer PC Componentes has substantially reduced the price of unlimited data plans available via its new-launched MVNO venture on the MasOrange network. The operator is now offering a monthly mobile-only plan with unlimited data at 5G speeds for EUR 15.90, as well as an annual plan for EUR 100, equivalent to EUR 8.33 a month.
