The Lagos State Government has announced plans to establish a dedicated Cybersecurity Operations Centre (CSOC), ITWeb reported. LG Uplus said cumulative SIM update and replacement cases linked to its International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) system transition have exceeded two million. According to the operator, 750,461 SIM updates and 1,264,066 SIM replacements were completed between 13 April and 17 May, bringing the combined total to 2,014,527 cases. LG Uplus said the cumulative processing rate currently stands at 11.8 percent.

Swedish telecoms regulator PTS is inviting comments by 12 June on proposals concerning the definition of significant cybersecurity incidents, meaning those that must be reported. Under the Cybersecurity Act, operators must report significant incidents to the Civil Defence Agency (MCF). Previously, the telecoms law (LEK) and PTS regulated which incidents should be reported but this was brought under the Cybersecurity Act on 15 January this year.

Korea reports sharp rise in voice spam despite decline in text spam

South Korea's Broadcasting, Media and Communications Commission (KCC) and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) said voice spam volumes doubled in the second half of 2025, even as text spam and overall spam reports declined. The agencies said the average number of voice spam calls received per person each month rose to 4.26 from 2.13 in the first half of 2025.
