Egypt's ICT ministry has launched a nationwide SMS campaign to elevate digital literacy and introduce its specialized portal, Wa3i.net. NTIA opens applications for USD 790 mln in broadband funding

​The US National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) has opened applications for USD 790 million in funding to bring broadband networks to Tribal areas. Two streams are available, under the Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program (TBCP) and the Native Entities Grant Program (NEGP). Applications can be submitted until 17 September, and the NTIA expects to make awards on a rolling basis beginning in spring 2027. The European Union is falling short on its target for 100 percent of premises covered by FTTP by 2030, and also needs to do more to accelerate the roll-out of standalone 5G, the latest progress report on the Digital Decade targets shows.
