Dutch MVNO Market
Bi-annually we publish a report covering the market of virtual operators in the Netherlands (MVNOs and second brands of MNOs). It has an operational focus, commenting on subscriber numbers and mobile service revenues, market shares and related developments. This research document also includes snapshots of the top players (over 100 thousand active sims). The analysis is based on Telecompaper's ongoing research into developments in the Dutch mobile virtual network operator market. The focus is on all types of MVNOs as well as service providers and MVNEs.

The total MVNO market - including second brands owned by MNOs and independent MVNOs - accounted for 7.09 million Sims at the end of 2023-Q1, an increase of 2.0% in the last six months since our last report. This represents a 31.6% share of all mobile sims in the Netherlands. On an annual basis, the market grew by 3.8%, mainly due to the growth of the no-frills players.
MVNOs had 2.96 million sims at the end of 1Q2013, representing 13.7% of the total Dutch mobile market. The brands together reached just over 4 million Sims, or 17.9% of the total mobile market. The share of the latter is declining as the overall mobile market is growing at a faster rate.
