Delta Fiber to shift focus from network build-out to growth

Delta Fiber said it is entering a new phase, shifting its strategic focus from years of investment in the construction of fibre networks to growth on the network through service development, customer acquisition and good service. Newly appointed CEO Stefan Fuchs said the fibre infrastructure is now present throughout the Netherlands, creating opportunities for further expansion.

Odido launches three-year price-lock fibre deal

Dutch operator Odido has launched a new fibre subscription called PrijsVast Internet, which guarantees customers a fixed monthly fee for three years. According to the company, the product is designed to shield customers from annual price increases and inflation-linked adjustments.

KPN to raise prices 3.3% in July

KPN announced a 3.3 percent annual increase in rates for its internet and TV packages from July 2026. The adjustment is in line with the national inflation rate for 2025 as reported by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), consistent with the operator's pledge to not raise prices above this rate.

Odido Q1 revenue up 1.9% as broadband base grows by 3k and mobile base loses 7k

Dutch operator Odido increased both revenue and profitability during the first quarter of 2026. Service revenue rose 2.7 percent year-on-year to EUR 487 million, while total revenue grew 1.9 percent to EUR 590 million, according to an analysis of the company's quarterly results by New Street Research and estimates by Telecompaper.

VodafoneZiggo expects broadband subscriber losses to end this quarter

VodafoneZiggo CEO Stephen van Rooyen expects the Dutch telecom operator to stop losing broadband customers during the current quarter. Speaking to Financieele Dagblad, he said the operator has already seen a steady reduction in customer losses over the past four quarters and now anticipates stabilisation, with the possibility of slight growth in its broadband base.

Open Dutch Fiber revenue grows 36% in 2025, Odido remains anchor tenant

Open Dutch Fiber (ODF) increased its revenue by nearly 36 percent to EUR 48.2 million in 2025, according to its annual report. The company's largest customer, Odido remained the company's main customer, accounting for 75.5 percent of total revenue, or EUR 36.4 million, as anchor tenant on ODF's network.

Odido bundles recording service with Videoland and raises price

Dutch provider Odido is increasing the monthly price of its "Opnemen" TV recording add-on from EUR 5.00 to EUR 5.99 as of 01 July, while integrating Videoland Basis into the package. The updated bundle, renamed "Opnemen + Videoland Basis", combines recording functionality with 200 hours of storage across 44 TV channels with access to Videoland's entry-level streaming service.

Moody's upgrades Odido outlook to positive on 2025 results, limited impact of data breach

Moody's has revised its outlook on Dutch operator Odido from stable to positive, citing improved operating performance and expectations of further financial strengthening. The ratings agency has affirmed the company's existing ratings, including its B2 Corporate Family Rating, B1 rating for senior secured debt and Caa1 rating for subordinated debt, while indicating that an upgrade could follow if specific financial targets are met.

The Dutch regulator ACM has rejected a request from directory service providers Voice Data Bridge, 1800 Services and 1850 to force telecom operators and their association COIN to share more information on subscribers. The ACM was asked to intervene and set a fair rate for the number data, based on reasonable, cost-based methods and no higher than 3 percent of their current combined tariff. Dutch police take down botnet infecting 17 mln devices

The Dutch police have taken down a botnet network infecting over 17 million devices. Discovered by a researcher at the National Cyber Security Centre, the network included computers, tablets and smartphones, working with 200 servers hosted in the Netherlands in order to conduct cyber attacks. The servers at the hosting provider were seized and the network taken down due to criminal misuse.

Dutch digital infrastructure agency's director leaves after 7 years

Angeline van Dijk is stepping down at the end of June as inspector general at the Netherlands' digital infrastructure agency RDI. She has taken a new job to lead the country's food safety agency. Van Dijk led the RDI almost seven years, guiding its transition from the former Agentschap Telecom (AT) to the current organsiation with a much broader field of oversight. A replacement has not yet been named.

Consumers union questions KPN, Ziggo price hikes

The Dutch consumers union says it's investigating recent price changes at the leading telecom providers KPN and Ziggo to see if they are legal. This follows dozens of complaints received from consumers about the higher prices. The Consumentenbond said it plans to meet with the operators to discuss the changes, which include a new security fee added by KPN and additional sports channels charged by Ziggo.

KPN launches sovereign cloud service with StackIT

Dutch operator KPN announced it's working with Germany's Schwarz Digits to launch a sovereign cloud service for the Dutch market. Named 'KPN Sovereign Cloud, powered by StackIT', the service will be hosted in KPN's data centres in the Netherlands and use the StackIT open-source software for delivering the infrastructure.

Netherlands advertising market grows 6% in 2025

The advertising market in the Netherlands grew by 6.1 percent in 2025 to EUR 6.8 billion, the fifth consecutive year of growth, according to figures from Nielsen. Digital is the growth engine, growing 10 percent and accounting for almost 63 percent of the total ad market last year. Its share has increased significantly in the past decade, from just 39 percent in 2016.

Hanab holding company assigned B2 credit rating at Moody's

The Dutch network services company Hanab has received a B2 credit rating from Moody's, with a positive outlook. The rating applies to its holding company Vita LuxCo, which is working on a refinancing of the company previously known as VolkerWessels Telecom. The company is planning a new EUR 1.1 billion term loan, revolving credit facility of EUR 200 million and guaranteed facility of EUR 75 million. Netherlands to open applications for local radio stations

The digital infrastructure agency in the Netherlands is opening applications for local radio stations on the DAB+ platform. Up to two stations will be allowed in each area, double the previous number, with permits valid until 2030. Applications can be submitted from 09 June, and the permits will be awarded on a first come, first served basis. If there are more than two applicants in a given area, a lottery will be held.

Talpa launches VOD apps for Ziggo, KPN TV boxes

Dutch broadcaster Talpa Network is launching dedicated apps for its Kijk VOD platform for the two biggest pay-TV providers. As a result KPN and Ziggo TV subscribers will have a Kijk app on their set-top boxes for direct access to Talpa programming. Later this year apps for other TV platforms will be introduced.

Netherlands blocks Kyndryl takeover of Solvinity on public interest grounds

The Netherlands has blocked Kyndryl's proposed acquisition of the IT services provider Solvinity on public interest grounds. The Dutch state secretary for the digital economy and sovereignty, Willemijn Aerdts said the country's foreign investment screening bureau had evaluated the takeover and recommended the transaction be prohibited in its entirety. She has adopted the advice and decided to not allow the deal to go ahead.

Lebara Netherlands aims for 1 mln postpaid subscribers

Lebara Netherlands aims to grow to over 1 million postpaid subscribers. In an interview with Telecompaper, managing director Leslie Hogeveen said this target is "ambitious but realistic". No deadline for achieving the number was given. Lebara's current base counts around 600,000 postpaid subscribers, equal to almost two-thirds of its total customers. Postpaid has increased from around a third of connections in early 2023 and is expected to increase further to 70-80 percent of Lebara's lines.

Budget Thuis to start services on Open Dutch Fiber network

Budget Thuis has signed an agreement to offer services on the Open Dutch Fiber network. The ISP will launch its fibre broadband and TV services first in Amsterdam, followed by the rest of ODF's footprint, which mainly covers large cities. No details on pricing were disclosed.
