
Huawei wins Banglalink 3G deal

Huawei has bagged a deal worth USD 300 million to expand network of Banglalink, the second-largest mobile operator in Bangladesh. Under the deal Huawei will develop the 3G network of Banglalink if the operator wins a 3G licence in the auction scheduled for 02 September. Huawei will work on modernising the existing network, adding power savings and service quality improvements. Banglalink will invest USD 300 million to increase its network capacity, said Banglalink CEO Ziad Shatara at an announcement reported by local media.
