KPN introduces 4K TV receiver for new customers
KPN has introduced a new type of TV receiver, suitable for 4K and HDR. New iTV customers started getting the receiver from 1 October. Existing customers will it when they upgrade to a 4K package. KPN started providing its first 4K UHD deals in May 2017.

The new TV receiver runs on the Broadcom 72604B0 chipset and is suitable for 4K HDR and Dolby Atmos sound reproduction. It is more compact and energy efficient than the receiver currently in use and also features a deep sleep saving mode.

The remote control works on Bluetooth, which makes it possible to put TV receiver out of sight. Also new is the special Netflix button, which goes directly to that subscription service. Netflix has 4K films and series on offer.

A speed increase was implemented for the Internet and TV 4K package, on 1 May 2019. The speeds of 150/158 Mbps down and up were replaced by 200/20 Mbps down and up.
