LG revenues lift 10% to KRW 14.66 trillion in Q1

LG Electronics released preliminary figures for its first quarter, saying it expects sales to reach KRW 14.66 trillion, up almost 10 percent from the year and off 0.8 percent quarter-on-quarter. The operating profit leaped over 80 percent year-on-year to KRW 921.5 billion.

Final earnings results will be provided later this month.

LG Electronics posted tentative consolidated revenues of KRW 14.7 trillion for the first quarter of this year, with an operating profit of KRW 1.1 trillion. LG Electronics reported higher second-quarter results in its preliminary report. Revenues are expected to be 3.9 percent higher at nearly KRW 13.6 trillion, and the operating profit is expected up 13.6 percent year-on-year to KRW 664 billion. Compared to the first quarter, the results are down respectively 0.7 and 27.9 percent.

LG returns mobile business to breakeven as shipments up 10%

LG Electronics returned its mobile phone business to breakeven in the first quarter, helped by solid sales momentum for its mid-tier devices, and said it expects the improvements to continue in Q2 with the launch of its flagship G6 smartphone. The mobile division posted a small operating loss of KRW 0.2 billion in the quarter, recovering from a loss of KRW 202 billion in the year-earlier period and KRW 463 billion in Q4. LG meldt 10% hogere omzet in eerste kwartaal

LG Electronics heeft de voorlopige resultaten gemeld voor het eerste kwartaal, met daarin een omzet van 14,66 biljoen Koreaanse won (circa 12,2 miljard euro). Dat is bijna 10 procent hoger op jaarbasis en 0,8 procent lager dan het belangrijke vierde kwartaal. De operationele winst veerde met 80 procent op jaarbasis op tot 921,5 miljard won. Het bedrijf komt later deze maand met de volledige cijfers.
