
Microsoft sells 40 mln Windows 8 licences in first month

Microsoft announced that it has sold 40 million licences to Windows 8 in the first month of sales of the new software. The figure was given by Tami Reller, Windows CFO, at the Credit Suisse Annual Technology Conference. Microsoft added that the number of apps on the Windows App Store, launched at the same time as Windows 8, has doubled since opening. A number of apps have also crossed the USD 25,000 revenue mark.
