Sprint in talks to take control of Clearwire board - report
Sprint Nextel is in talks to gain control of the board of mobile broadband operator Clearwire, reports the Wall Street Journal citing unnamed sources familiar with the matter. It is in talks to other investors about a deal that would give Sprint the ability to appoint a majority of directors and control the company without acquiring it. Sprint currently holds 48 percent of Clearwire. Any deal would relieve concerns that Sprint could lose control of Clearwire's assets.
