Tele2 loses COO Sonkin
Tele2 announced that Niklas Sonkin, COO, is leaving the company. He joined Tele2 in 2009 and since then has been responsible for developing the company’s operations outside of Sweden and the Netherlands. In October 2015, he took the position of COO at Tele2. CEO Allison Kirkby said he had led the growth of the Baltic markets, the restructuring of the German operations and the establishment of the JV in Kazakhstan. 

Sonkin will leave the company 02 September, but will remain as chairman of the board of Tele2’s JV operation in Kazakhstan, Khan Tengri Holding and board member of Mobile Telecoms-Service. Fredrik Stenberg, currently Director of Customer Operations and member of the Shared Operations Leadership Team, will become acting COO until a replacement is found.
