Qualinx brings ultra-low-power GNSS innovation to the Netherlands Pavilion during MWC Barcelona 2026

Location services have become fundamental to modern life. From wearables and asset tracking to logistics, mobility and smart infrastructure, accurate positioning underpins a rapidly expanding range of applications. Yet GNSS functionality remains one of the most power-hungry components in connected devices. Dutch semiconductor innovator Qualinx is addressing this challenge head-on.

A new class of GNSS chips (Gobal Navigation Satellite System)

Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Delft, Qualinx has developed the world’s first ultra-low-power, fully reconfigurable, multi-constellation GNSS solution. Powered by its patented Digital RF (DRF) technology, also known as DragonFly, the company achieves up to ten times lower power consumption than legacy positioning chips without compromising accuracy, robustness or performance.

Unlike traditional GNSS solutions, which are fixed at design stage, Qualinx’s software-defined architecture allows positioning functionality to be reconfigured over-the-air. This flexibility eliminates the need for hardware replacement when requirements evolve, significantly extending device lifecycles while reducing electronic waste and total cost of ownership.

By eliminating the accurate positioning vs long battery life tradeoff, Qualinx enables truly scalable IoT, mobility and wearable deployments. Longer time between charges, always-on connectivity, smaller device design, lower total cost of ownership, eliminating network-side inefficiencies and long-life device fleets.

From innovation to qualification

In 2026, Qualinx reaches a key commercial milestone. The company has scaled its organization to support mass production and is now sampling evaluation kits (EVKs), enabling customers to qualify the technology directly within their own products. Initial target markets include wearables, asset tracking, IOT-equipment and livestock management, with a longer-term roadmap toward seamless indoor-outdoor positioning and integrated timing-solutions.

All Qualinx chips are designed, fabricated, tested and packaged entirely in Europe, reinforcing technological sovereignty while aligning with sustainability goals across the electronics value chain.

Meet Qualinx at MWC Barcelona 2026

If you are building the next generation of IoT, asset tracking, mobile or wearable devices, seeking precise positioning with dramatically reduced energy consumption, a visit to Qualinx at MWC Barcelona 2026 is highly recommended. Qualinx will be exhibiting at the Netherlands Pavilion during MWC Barcelona, taking place from 2–5 March 2026. Visitors are invited to explore the technology, discuss qualification opportunities, and connect with the team to explore partnerships. Or already plan your meeting with them now.
