German court supports Motorola in Apple patent dispute
Motorola Mobility said it won a court ruling against Apple in a German court. The court in Manheim, Germany ruled that Apple's European sales company, Ireland-based Apple Sales International, is infringing one of Motorola Mobility's core cellular communications patents related to GPRS through its sales of the iPhone and iPad devices. The court granted Motorola Mobility's requests for an injunction and damages. Motorola said it's been negotiating with Apple on a licensing deal since 2007, and will continue to work towards an agreement to end the patent dispute.

Motorola Mobility announced an initial ruling at the ITC in the case brought by Apple against the company. The Administrative Law Judge at the US ITC issued an initial determination in favor of Motorola Mobility, finding no violation for any of the three Apple patents listed in Apple's suit.
