LG Electronics has announced that it will expand its G7 series of smartphones with the release of the LG G7 One and the LG G7 Fit smartphones at the IFA trade show in Berlin. To be offered at "exceptional price points" according to the company, the LG G7 One offers similar features to the G7 ThinQ released in May, while running Android One, the 'pure' version of Google's OS, while the G7 Fit has slightly lower specifications, bridging the gap between mid-range and flagship models.
The G7 One comes with the high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 mobile platform paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, a slightly lower configuration than on the G7 ThinQ. It features the same 6.1-inch QHD+ Super Bright Display with 19.5:9 FullVision screen ratio and all-glass design of the LG G7 ThinQ, with a polished metal rim for a sleek and slim appearance. The G7 One is also rated IP68 for dust and water resistance.
In addition to the pure Android experience of the One OS, the G7 One comes with the Google Lens app and a dedicated button on the side of the phone to launch Google Assistant, the same as the earlier G7 ThinQ. The same as LG's other recent flagship phones, it has a 32-bit quad DAC for high-quality music sound, up to 7.1 channel audio with DTS:X, the Boombox Speaker for listening without headphones, and via an update later this year, the AI CAM functions.
The G7 Fit runs the slightly lower Snapdragon 821 with 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. It comes with the same 6.1-inch FullVision display with QHD+ resolution and top notch as the G7 One, as well as the quad DAC, Boombox Speaker and DTS:X 3D Surround Sound. The G7 Fit will include AI CAM at launch and be available in a choice of black or platinum grey.
The G7 Fit comes with a single back camera of 16 megapixels and f/2.2 aperture and an 8 megapixel wide-angle camera on the front. The G7 One offers a slightly better camera on the back, with f/1.6, and the same front camera. Both phones include a 3,000 mAh battery, facial recognition, fingerprint sensor, FM radio and fast charging.
Pricing details for the LG G7 One and LG G7 Fit will be announced locally at the time of availability.
