LG previews V40 smartphone with five cameras

LG Electronics has unveiled in Korea the V40 ThinQ smartphone, its first with five cameras - three on the back and two on the front. The same width as the V30, the phone comes with an even smaller bezel around the 6.4-inch display and a soft-touch back of sand-blasted glass built for resistance to scratches. The device will be available in the colours platinum grey, Moroccan blue and Carmine red.

The device was previewed in videos released by LG in Korea. The official announcement of the new phone is planned for an event on 03 October.

LG to start five-camera V40 smartphone orders 11 October

LG Electronics has confirmed the launch of its first five-camera smartphone, the V40 ThinQ. It will be available to pre-order from 11 October. In addition, the company announced a new hybrid smartwatch, called the LG Watch W7.

LG Electronics has announced that it will expand its G7 series of smartphones with the release of the LG G7 One and the LG G7 Fit smartphones at the IFA trade show in Berlin. To be offered at "exceptional price points" according to the company, the LG G7 One offers similar features to the G7 ThinQ released in May, while running Android One, the 'pure' version of Google's OS, while the G7 Fit has slightly lower specifications, bridging the gap between mid-range and flagship models.

LG launches Signature Edition smartphone for KRW 1.99 mln

LG Electronics has announced it will start selling its super-premium smartphone, the LG Signature Edition, this week for KRW 1.99 million (approximately USD 1,770). The company said it has already sold 200 units through pre-order over the previous two weeks, Yonhap news agency reports. The Signature Edition was released on 13 August unlocked from carriers.

LG has launched its Q8 (2018) budget smartphone in South Korea. Customers will be able to acquire the device for KRW 539,000 (approximately USD 480), The Korea Times reports. The new Q8 smartphone is equipped with a stylus pen that allows consumers to write notes, LG said.

LG mobile losses widen in Q2 as sales fall 19%

LG Electronics saw losses at its smartphone business worsen in the second quarter, as the global market weakened and the company suffered from tough competition in the premium and mid-range segments. Revenues at the mobile division declined 19 percent year-on-year to KRW 2.07 trillion, and the operating loss widened to KRW 185 billion from KRW 140 billion a year ago and KRW 136 billion in Q1.

LG Electronics has announced it will start sales of a new V30 smartphone this week. The device will include artificial intelligence features and upgraded hardware, Yonhap news agency reports. LG plans to release the V30S ThinQ and the V30S ThinQ Plus on 9 March. The devices will be on sale for KRW 1.04 million (approximately USD 974) and KRW 1.09 million, respectively.
