Samsung presents Tizen Z1 phone in India
Samsung has presented its first smartphone running Tizen at a meeting in India. The Z1 is expected to launch in India 18 January for a price equivalent to around EUR 75. The phone features a 4-inch screen, 1.2 GHz processor and 3 megapixel rear camera with flash. Tizen 2.3 includes a number of apps, including Nokia's navigation service Here, which can also be used offline. Samsung has delayed the launch of a Tizen phone several times, but earlier released a smartwatch running the OS.

Samsung launches Z2 Tizen smartphone in India

Samsung Electronics unveiled its third budget smartphone running the Tizen OS, dubbed the Z2, in India, The Economic Times reports. The Z2 includes a 4-inch Amoled display, 5-megapixel camera, 2 GB RAM, 8 GB expandable memory, LTE and 1.5-GHz quad core processor. Samsung heeft op een bijeenkomst in India de eerste smartphone gepresenteerd die draait op Tizen. De Z1 komt op 18 januari in India op de markt voor omgerekend ca. 75 euro. Samsung delays Tizen smartphone launch again

Samsung has again postponed the launch of its first smartphone running the Tizen operating system, reported Korea's Chosun Ilbo. The phone was to be launched this week in India. Earlier the reported launch with Japanese operator NTT DoCoMo and in Russia were also canceled at the last minute. Samsung said it did not want to rush a product to market for fear it would not meet consumer expectations. The company earlier launched a smartwatch running Tizen.

Samsung, Here partner for maps, location integration

Navigation, mapping and location experience company, Here has partnered with Samsung to integrate its maps and location platform services to Tizen-powered smart devices from Samsung, including the newly-announced Samsung Gear S. Samsung postpones Tizen smartphone launch

Samsung has delayed the launch of its first Tizen smartphone, originally scheduled to go on sale in Russia in Q3. In a brief statement, Samsung said that it was postponing the launch of the Samsung Z, the Wall Street Journal reports. The company cited a need to "further enhance [the] Tizen ecosystem," a reference to an apparent shortage of apps for the new platform.
