Vodafone is close to a deal to acquire Liberty Global's cable assets in Germany and Eastern Europe, the Financial Times reports. People familiar with the matter said deal, worth as much as EUR 16.5 billion including debt, is in the final stages and could be completed within a week or two.
Vodafone confirmed in February it was in talks with Liberty Global on a possible asset sale outside the UK. The companies were not discussing a full merger, the group said.
