AT&T introduces HD Voice, VoLTE in initial markets
AT&T is introducing HD Voice on an all-IP, Voice over LTE (VoLTE) network in select markets. HD Voice will be enabled on the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini beginning 23 May, allowing customers to simultaneously talk while accessing the internet at LTE speeds. AT&T plans to enable HD Voice on additional devices in the future. Initially, HD Voice from AT&T will be available in select areas in Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota and Wisconsin, and will continue to expand on a market-by-market basis.

Verizon starts VoLTE roll-out

Verizon Wireless announced the roll-out of voice services over its LTE network. T-Mobile USA brings VoLTE to Seattle

T-Mobile USA has launched Voice over LTE (VoLTE) in the Seattle area, available for existing LG G Flex and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Light customers. The company said it is working on a LTE Advanced version of VoLTE, which it plans to roll out to more T-Mobile customers in the coming year. To use the new VoLTE, customers need to adjust their settings and get the latest software update. Rivals Verizon and AT&T have also announced in recent days plans to launch VoLTE.

Verizon Wireless has announced that the next evolution in wireless calling, VoLTE, or Voice over LTE, will roll out to Verizon's nationwide customers later in the year. New Cricket Wireless launches with no annual contracts

The new Cricket Wireless has launched a new no contract wireless service on a nationwide LTE network covering more than 280 million Americans. The new company is a result of the combination of Cricket Wireless and Aio Wireless two months after AT&T closed its acquisition of Leap Wireless International, which had operated the Cricket brand. AT&T to buy all of Sprint's 2.3 GHz WCS licences

AT&T Mobility has entered an agreement to purchase all of Sprint's WCS spectrum licences, according to a FCC filing reported by FierceWireless. Sprint currently owns nineteen 2.3 GHz WCS licences in locations across the South, including in markets in Florida, Louisiana, Texas, Alabama and Georgia, among others. The financial details of the transaction, which is still subject to FCC approval, were not disclosed.
