HMD Global has unveiled its first premium smartphone under the Nokia brand. The flagship Nokia 8 will sell from Sepember for EUR 599.
The smartphone features a 5.3-inch IPS LCD screen with QHD resolution (1,440x,2,560 pixels) and the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, as well as 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. With a unibody aluminium design, the phone is available in a choice of Polished Blue, Polished Copper, Tempered Blue and Steel colours. The Nokia 8 runs the latest version of Android, 7.1.1, and the company promised a 'pure' Android experience, with monthly security updates and no needless apps.
The device comes with three 13-megapixel cameras, including dual cameras with Carl Zeiss optical components on the back and a camera on the front. The company said this is the first smartphone to include dual-sight video, recording both on the front and rear cameras simultaneously to offer split screen visual for photos and videos and offering direct live streaming to social networks via the camera interface.
In addition, the Nokia 8 is the first smartphone to feature Nokia Ozo Audio. The 360-degree audio is incorporated in the 4k video recorder to enhance the playback experience. The phone also runs a 3,090 battery with Qualcomm Quickcharge 3.0.
