Microsoft launches Windows 10 subscription service
Microsoft is introducing a new Windows 10 subscription service, to provide additional services to business customers. Windows 10 Enterprise Edition is a managed service offering delivered by cloud solution partners and charged on a monthly basis per user. It targets businesses that do not have dedicated IT resources or limited IT staff, and want their licensing and IT needs managed by a partner.

In addition to the Windows 10 software, subscribers receive increased security features, simplified licensing and deployment of the OS, and configuration and management of Windows devices by a Microsoft cloud partner. The new offer comes as the first-year offer for a free Windows 10 upgrade nears an end.

Microsoft also introduced the new Surface as a Service offer, allowing its cloud partners to offer its business tablet under a managed services contract. The new offering allows customers to keep their devices updated with the latest offers and bundle the device with other Microsoft cloud services, such as Windows, Azure and Office. The Surface programme launched first with European provider Also and will expand globally.
