Windows 10 reaches 270 mln users, new update planned
Windows 10 has reached 270 million active users, eight months since its launch, Microsoft announced at its Build conference for developers. This is the fastest adoption ever of a Windows release. The company announced a planned free update for this summer, called the Anniversary update, that will add more biometric recognition features to Windows, for example unlocking the screen with a smile. The update also introduces Windows Ink, a new way to 'write' on the screen with stylus features.

For developers, Microsoft is also expanding the Cortana Intelligence Suite with Microsoft Cognitive Services, a set of APIs that will allow systems to integrate the type of communication and artificial intelligence experienced with the Cortana personal assistant into other applications. Microsoft also offers developers its Bot Framework to build intelligent bots that enable customers to chat on a variety of platforms, including text/SMS, Office 365, Skype, Slack and the web.
