Twitter loses China chief
Twitter's head of China has left the company after just eight months in office, the latest in a string of executive departures for the company. Kathy Chen announced her departure on Twitter, saying she would "take some time off to recharge, study about different cultures and then pursue more international business opportunities".

While Twitter is officially blocked in China, many people still use it over VPNs as do international Chinese companies. Chen became Twitter’s first Greater China chief in April as part of the company’s efforts to extend its reach to Chinese advertisers.

She was reportedly the only person left in the company’s Hong Kong office after October, when a number of staff were moved to an Asia-Pacific headquarters in Singapore, the Financial Times reports. In a separate tweet she said: "Now that the Twitter Apac team is working directly with Chinese advertisers, this is the right time for me to leave the company."
