FCC hails removal of 3 million illicit e-commerce listings for unauthorised devices

The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) revealed it has helped e-commerce platforms remove 3 million product listings for prohibited electronic devices, including equipment registered in the FCC's Covered List due to national security concerns. The milestone follows the launch six months ago of the FCC's Operating Clean Carts programme, which aims to protect the US consumer by co-ordinating enforcement and engaging with e-commerce platforms to tackle the problem of illicit devices being sold online.

Netherlands-based MPG Media Services said it has entered a partnership with Rakuten TV Enterprise to expand its presence in the European FAST (free ad-supported streaming TV) market.
