FCC assigns lead role for Cyber Trust Mark to IoT certification body ioXt Alliance

The Federal Communications Commission has picked US-based IoT certification body ioXt Alliance as the lead administrator for its Cyber Trust Mark Programme, a voluntary cybersecurity labelling scheme targeting consumer wireless IoT products. The Cyber Trust Mark spawned from the federal IoT Labeling Program in January 2025 as a result of efforts to signpost compliant IoT devices and boost consumer knowledge of security concerns.

SES has announced progress towards offerability for its multi-orbit antenna for installation by Boeing, letting airlines receive new aircraft with the onboard network in place and connectivity service available immediately after delivery through a modification provided by Boeing. Mainland China's smartphone market declined by 1 percent year-on-year to 69.8 million units in the first quarter of 2026. In the first three months of this year, rising component costs, particularly for memory, prompted major vendors to increase product prices, further extending the market's downward trajectory, according to a report from Omdia.
