AI inference startup Fractile to invest GBP 100 million in UK operations

Fractile, a UK-based developer of AI inference silicon, systems and software, will invest GBP 100 million (USD 136.54 million) to expand its London and Bristol-based offices and develop a new UK hardware engineering facility. The three-year investment, to be announced by UK AI Minister Kanishka Narayan in a speech in central London to the country's AI sector, will also go towards a hiring push to support its product roadmap. Cyprus operator Cablenet has expanded its tariff portfolio with the launch of two home internet plans. Customers can now subscribe to the GigaMax Internet and Super 300M tariff plans, which feature a 'Same-Day Internet' option to eliminate traditional installation delays. Customers can also take up a 30-day 'Try & Buy' trial, offering a commitment-free window to test the Cablenet network.

Dutch fibre operator Glaspoort announced plans to start building its FTTP network at the business parks Haarbrug, De Kronkels and Haarbrug Zuid in the municipality Bunschoten in Q1, for a total of almost 600 new connections. In addition, it plans to connect the sites Sint Annaland, Welgelegen, Oud-Vossemeer and Sint Philipsland in Tholen in Zeeland with more than 540 new lines, and connect over 100 buildings at the parks Drieschouwen and MVP in Terneuzen to fibre.

Warner Bros Discovery has confirmed the launch of HBO Max in the UK and Ireland on Thursday 26 March 2026. Provider of passive infrastructure GD Towers, owned by Deutsche Telekom, DigitalBridge and Brookfield Asset Management, has secured EUR 2.5 billion financing from European and US investors. Eir fixed-network data traffic reaches 5,551 PB in 2025

Irish telecoms operator Eir saw total data traffic on its fixed network rise to 5,551 PB in 2025, up more than twofold from 2019; with average household data use on the high-speed fibre network reaching 7,272 GB a year in 2025, up 61 percent from 4,513 GB annually in 2019. The latest 'Digital Ireland 2025' report shows that Kildare had the highest data use with an average of 7,800 GB per house in 2024. Italian public service broadcaster Rai and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) have announced new 5G broadcast trials during the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games, building on experiments first staged at the Paris Olympics in 2024. The pre-commercial tests aim to demonstrate how the technology can extend live, free-to-air access to smartphones and other mobile devices using existing broadcast tower networks.
