ABN Amro lowers annual TMT growth forecast for Netherlands

ABN Amro has cut its forecast for growth in the TMT sector in the Netherlands this year to 3 percent. In December the bank predicted 5 percent growth, after a recovery to 4.5 percent growth in 2025. The rise in interest rates is the biggest threat to expansion, the bank said. For 2027, it still expects an increase of around 4 percent.

Colt Data Centre Services (Colt DCS) has published its 4th annual Sustainability Report. This shows a reduction of 27 percent in Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions compared to the 2019 base year. It has also achieved 100 percent renewable electricity in Scope 2 and 90 percent renewable share of total energy consumption.

BBC extends Wimbledon coverage until 2033

The BBC has signed a new agreement with The All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) to keep The Championships, Wimbledon, on free-to-air TV in the UK until 2033. The BBC has been broadcasting coverage of Wimbledon since 1927. The new deal covers live coverage of the tournament across BBC TV, iPlayer, Radio 5 Live, BBC Sounds, the BBC Sport website and app, and BBC Sport's social channels.

Dutch court validates class-action suit against Sony over PlayStation Store pricing

A court in the Netherlands has validated a class-action claim against Sony over prices for Playstation games and will take up hearing the lawsuit from 29 June. The Stichting Massaschade & Consument was authorised to represent the around 1.7 million PlayStation players in the country, which the group claims have long overpaid for digital games and in-game content. It is claiming over EUR 400 million in damages.

Brisanet, a telecom provider covering Brazil's Northeast, was the main winner of a tender run by sector regulator Anatel, the Ministry of Communications (MCom) and Seja Digital to connect more than 90,000 people living in 112 locations across 17 Brazilian states. Claro, Vivo, TIM, Unifique, Iez! Telecom and Algar Telecom also took part and were awarded concessions in the reverse auction for 700 MHz spectrum freed up following the migration to DTT.

Telekom Srbija brings Move video platform to Slovenia

Telekom Srbija announced the expansion of its TV platform Move to the Slovenian market. Introduced last year in its home market, Move offers live TV, VOD, radio and podcasts across a range of genres. In Slovenia, more than 5,000 titles and 20,000 hours of programming will be available, including new and archive content. Nominet has opened the second application window for the Nominet DNS Fund, with GBP 650,000 available to support open-source project keeping the internet running.
