Fibre surpasses 83% of fixed broadband total in Peru

The number of active fixed line internet accesses in Peru reached 4.10 million at the end of the second quarter of 2026, according to the latest update from telecom regulator Osiptel. The April to June period saw the number of active fibre-to-the-home accesses in Peru climb 2.6 percent year on year to 3.41 million, equivalent to 83.3 percent of the fixed broadband total, resulting in well over nine in ten users accessing download speeds above 100 Mbps.

New Finnish rules on reporting telecom disruptions take effect in January 2027

Finnish transport and communications agency Traficom said new rules for reporting telecom disruptions will come into effect on 01 January 2027, replacing regulations from 2020. One major change is that telecommunications operators will be obliged in future to report threats of disruptions that do not yet prevent services from functioning, but which could do so if they worsen. The new rules also specify the threshold for notifying Traficom of cases of sabotage, and update the associated procedures.
