Vision expands Global WiFi service with unlimited 5G plan in Egypt

Japanese company Vision, the operator of Global WiFi, has begun offering a new unlimited 5G plan in Egypt under its Global WiFi overseas router rental service, responding to growing demand for fast mobile connectivity among travellers to the country. Kaytus launches integrated liquid-cooled data centre offering

Singapore-based Kaytus has introduced a one-stop, end-to-end liquid-cooled data centre solution aimed at operators and enterprises building infrastructure for AI workloads. The company said the offering is designed to address the complexity of deploying high-density, liquid-cooled facilities while improving energy efficiency. According to Kaytus, the solution supports power densities of up to 15 kW per node and 130 kW per cabinet, with a stated power usage effectiveness below 1.1.

O2 leads nPerf mobile internet rankings in Czechia

O2 Czech Republic had the fastest mobile internet in the country in 2025, according to a study from nPerf. The operator demonstrated downloads at 107.3 Mbps and uploads at 28.6 Mbps. T-Mobile Czech Republic followed with downloads at 97.0 Mbps and uploads at 24.3 Mbps. The indicators of Vodafone Czech Republic amounted to 60.1 Mbps and 24.8 Mbps, respectively.

Russian PBX services provider MTS Exolve, a subsidiary of the telecom operator MTS, announced that the number of applications to access its communications services platform from corporate customers grew by 30 percent year-on-year in 2025. Companies working in online retail, finance and utility sectors demonstrated the highest dynamics.

Mozambique's government has updated its Telecommunications Traffic Control Regulation, allowing the National Communications Institute (INCM) to temporarily block internet and other communications, reported daily O Pais. This measure can be implemented for up to 48 hours, partially, fully, or per subscriber, if there is clear evidence of fraudulent activity or an "imminent risk" to public safety or social order.

Russian national operator Rostelecom has expanded the coverage of its fibre-optic network in the Kirov region. The operator covered 2,150 households in the town of Murashi, after building 36 km of fibre lines replacing obsolete copper connections with GPON technology. Broadband at up to 700 Mbps is available to customers there.

Mobilezone cuts CO2 footprint with refurbished phones business

Mobilezone has saved approximately 900 tons of CO2 equivalent in 2025 through the sale of refurbished smartphones under the retailer's Jusit brand. The company conducted an analysis, taking into account different scenarios, and examining the entire circular economy process, throughout Switzerland, to calculate its CO2 footprint. The analysis considered the buyback process in 125 mobilezone shops or via mail order, the certified refurbishment and subsequent quality control process, and the resale.

Russian operator Beeline has concluded an agreement with the state-owned Russian Railways on the use of the latter's data centre in Yekaterinburg. Epic Games loses court appeal over Dutch fines for Fortnite abuses

Epic Games has lost a court appeal in Rotterdam against fines imposed by the Dutch competition and consumer regulator ACM. As a result the EUR 1.125 million in fines for misleading sales practices are upheld. The ACM fined the company in March 2024 after finding its games Fortnite was driving children to make purchases via abusive marketing, misleading timers and 'dark pattern' designs, playing on the vulnerability of minors.

T-Mobile Czechia adds Music Box channels

T-Mobile Czech Republic has added four additional channels to its pay-TV lineup. The list includes Music Box Hits, Music Box Dance and Music Box Classic from the broadcaster Music Box. The channel Magenta Music from the operator has also become available for subscribers.

One confirmed as North Macedonia's third mobile operator

North Macedonia's Agency for Electronic Communications (AEK) has selected One Macedonia Telecommunications, a subsidiary of Hungary's 4iG, as the country's third mobile operator. This decision follows a tender for radio frequency bands in the 700 MHz, 1800 MHz and 3 GHz ranges. One Macedonia now has 10 days to pay a one-time fee of EUR 8 million for the frequency rights. Russian national operator Rostelecom agreed the acquisition of a 45 percent stake in the company Ertek, a developer of a property management system. Rostelecom and Ertek already work together on the development of the system Digital Hotel. Rostelecom provides its infrastructure and digital services, and Ertek contributes its PMS.

DStelecom upgrades fibre network in Vila Flor

Portuguese network operator DStelecom, which has operated in Vila Flor since 2014, has upgraded its fibre-optic network in the municipality. This expansion brings high-speed internet access to four new locations: Benlhevai, Trindade, Vale Frechoso and Mourao. The existing infrastructure in Valtorno also received an upgrade. This initiative will connect approximately 750 additional homes, bringing the total to over 3,800 families in the municipality.

T2 adds anti-phishing service to SafeWall platform

Russian mobile operator T2, a subsidiary of the national operator Rostelecom, has completed implementation of the service Anti-Phishing, reports Kp.ru. The service will form an additional element of the cyber-security platform SafeWall, which is available free for all subscribers of the operator. The database of the service counts more than 45,000 case files to help identify risks. The new service is available at the base level of the multi-level platform SafeWall.

4iG announces changes to management structure

Hungarian telecom group 4iG announced a major shake-up of its management structure, effective 15 January. The board of directors, led by Chairman and CEO Gellert Jaszai, will concentrate on strategic management, overseeing business units, and managing government and international relations. Digi Slovakia has expanded its pay-TV lineup with the channels Music Box Hits, Music Box Classic and Music Box Dance. The channels are available using the online TV service TV Digi, as well as the service Digi Go. Music Box Hits is added to the package L and upper bundles, and the channels Music Box Classic and Music Box Dance are included in M and upper packages.

STC Group says it supported over 12 million visitors to the Riyadh Season entertainment festival at various zones and events, providing more than 15,000 TB of network capacity through a combination of indoor and outdoor coverage services, using 4G and 5G technologies. The number of roaming customers exceeded 10,000 subscribers.
