Senegal adopts Wave mobile payments at public health facilities

Senegal's health ministry and mobile money provider Wave have teamed up to digitize payments across all public health facilities. Health Minister Ibrahima Sy announced that the rollout aims to modernize hospital services, secure financial flows, and simplify the patient experience. The government plans to eventually make digital payments the standard across the entire national health system.

Danish telecoms and energy group Norlys has announced the appointment of Jukka Pertola to the board of directors of its consumer services division, replacing Ulf Lund, who moved to TV2 last December. Lumen Technologies has agreed to buy the programmable networking specialist Alkira to help expand its business in the data centre interconnection market. AMD reported better-than-expected results for the first quarter of 2026, driven by demand for its data centre server chips to power new AI models and applications.
