Channel 4 reports total revenue of GBP 1.03 billion for 2025

UK broadcaster Channel 4 has published its Annual Report for 2025, with revenues down 1 percent to GBP 1.03 billion. This is the fifth year in a row than revenues surpassed GBP 1 billion. It ended the year with a pre-tax deficit of GBP 10 million, compared to a year-earlier deficit of GBP 12 million; and net cash reserves of GBP 49 million, down from GBP 11 million in 2024. Total advertising revenues were down 2 percent; with digital revenues up 13 percent to GBP 346 million (34% of total revenue).

US mobile operators AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile are all offering handsets from the new motorola razr range. AT&T is offering the motorola razr+ to new customers for USD 9.99 per month; with existing customers able to upgrade for USD 12.99 per month, with no trade-in required for both deals. New customers can buy the motorola razr+ 2026 online and save an extra USD 200; with this online-exclusive deal also available to existing customers adding a new line.

Rogers launches new nationwide marketing campaign

Rogers Communications is launching a new nationwide marketing campaign showing how it keeps customers and fans connected. The campaign features Toronto Blue Jays player George Springer and pitchers Kazuma Okamoto and Dylan Chase, along with Canadian actor Michael Cera. Rogers is the owner of the Toronto Blue Jays and is launching the fully integrated national campaign to mark the team's 2025 World Series run. It will run until end-June across TV, online video, digital and out-of-home.

Global connected TV revenues to reach USD 81 bln by 2030 - Omdia

Worldwide connected TV (CTV) advertising revenue will reach USD 81 billion by 2030, up from USD 44 billion in 2025, according to new research from Omdia. CTV ad revenues are expected to overtake traditional linear TV advertising during the 2030s. Netflix, Amazon and Google are expected to control 50 percent of the global CTV advertising market by 2030 - with Google accounting for 26 percent of global revenue, Amazon for 13 percent and Netflix for 9 percent.

Virgin Media O2 has opened a new store on the first floor of the Westfield White City shopping centre in West London. The store is over 3,660 sq ft in size and will showcase Virgin Media and O2 broadband, mobile, gaming and connected products/services. The store will also serve as a National Databank Hub to support local residents experiencing data poverty, giving them access to free O2 mobile data.

Video time in Poland was down in April, according to The Gauge study from Nielsen. The average time spent in front of the TV screen was 3 hours and 51 minutes, representing a 2-minute decrease compared to March and unchanged compared to April 2025. Meo reports lower EBITDA in Q1 despite rise in revenues

Portuguese telecom operator Meo reported EUR 703 million in revenues during the first quarter of 2026, a 0.9 percent year-on-year increase, primarily driven by a 1.7 percent rise in the Consumer Segment, bolstered by the Energy business, and 3.4 percent growth in Business Services. EBITDA, however, decreased by 7.3 percent to EUR 226 million. Slovak operator 4ka has stopped its sales at the mobile and electronics retail chain Smartshop, reports ZIve. The chain owns around 50 shops across the country. The companies declined to comment on the publication.

Viasat demos D2D services in Uzbekistan at GSMA event

For the first time in Uzbekistan satellite-enabled messaging directly with a standard mobile terminal via Viasat's satellite was demonstrated during the GSMA M360 Eurasia event. The direct-to-device test and the features and technical specifications of the 5G technology were discussed in detail at the conference, and Viasat also presented potential sovereign satellite solutions for Uzbekistan, according to a statement from the government.

Play offers promo of double-play services with TV

Polish operator Play, controlled by Iliad, has introduced a promotion of its double-play services. With a 24-month contract a subscription to fixed broadband at up to 300 Mbps and the TV Max service with 217 channels starts from just PLN 50 per month for a year. Customers also can chooose HBO Max or Eleven Sports free for a year and buy a Samsung 55-inch QLED Q7F2 4K TV for the reduced price of PLN 1,099, down from PLN 2,199 standard rate.

Megafon to work with Iskra Technologies on private networks

Russian operator Megafon has signed a cooperation agreement with the company Iskra Technologies, reports Kommersant. The companies plan to cooperate on developing private LTE and 5G networks, helping Megafon expands its product portfolio for corporate customers. They plan to customise the network architecture for the specific needs of customers.

T2 expands fibre backhaul in Moscow

Russian mobile operator T2, a subsidiary of the national operator Rostelecom, has started the deployment of a fibre backhaul network in the city and region of Moscow, reports Vedomosti. This coming summer, the operator plans to connect its base stations to the backbone network at almost 400 sites in the region. The first commercial services over the fibre lines are planned to start in August.

VK lifts FY guidance as Q1 revenue rise 6%

Russian internet company VK said it revenues reached RUB 37.6 billion in the first quarter of this year, up by 6 percent year-on-year. Adjusted EBITDA climbed by 27 percent to RUB 6.4 billion and the EBITDA margin was 17 percent, up by 3 percentage points. The company is raising its forecast and said it now expects over RUB 24 billion in FY EBITDA this year.

Azeri operator Azercell said it has supported The Baku Flames international festival of creativity and effectiveness, participating for the second consecutive year as its technology and innovation partner. The event convenes representatives of leading international companies, as well as experts from the creative industry, marketing and media. This year's programme features speakers from globally renowned companies such as Meta, Google and TikTok.

Beltelecom offers Ogo!Kino video service on iOS-powered devices

Belarusian national operator Beltelecom is offering customers using iPhones and iPads the opportunity to access its Ogo!Kino video services. They need to download the application Ogokino from App Store for this purpose. The service is already available on Android-powered mobile devices, Android TV-powered television sets, LG TV sets produced since 2022, as well as Samsung televisions manufactured since 2022 and powered by the TizenOS.

France's Arcom outlines new actions against piracy

French media watchdog Arcom has published two model agreements aimed at facilitating exchanges between sport rights holders and technical intermediaries, which in turn should accelerate the implementation of anti‑piracy measures. Technical intermediaries have also been urged to make use of a new unified system put in place by Arcom. By connecting to it, they will have access to all domain names for which Arcom has received blocking or delisting requests from sport rights holders following a court ruling.

Vodafone Germany equips 5G network with uplink carrier aggregation with TX-switching

Vodafone Germany said it is equipping its 5G network with uplink carrier aggregation technology with TX (transmission) switching in order to increase connection speeds. This uses multiple transmission channels for uploads over the 5G standalone network. Vodafone tried out the technology in Hanover and the Spanish city of Ciudad Real two years ago and reached peak upload speeds of 273 Mbps under optimal conditions.
