Telekom Malaysia's Q1 underlying profit jumps 9.3% despite 5G write-down

Telekom Malaysia (TM) posted revenue of MYR 2.93 billion for the first quarter of 2026, which represents an increase of 2.9 percent year-on-year. Revenue growth was mainly boosted by the operator's B2C and Carrier to Carrier (C2C) business segments. During the quarter, TM recognised a one-off adjustment of MYR 127.3 million related to the write-down of unutilised prepaid capacity under the current 5G access agreement, following the announcement made in February.

Quantix Edge Security said it has selected the municipality of Murcia in southeastern Spain as the site for a new semiconductor design centre, following a review of 25 proposals from 15 municipalities.
