The mobile sector in Macau saw a continued decline in May, with active lines dropping from 1.44 million in April to 1.43 million in May 2026, as reported by the regulator CTT. South Africa's Fibertime founder Alan Knott-Craig said that the network provider successfully tested 1Gbps broadband in Alexandra, Johannesburg. Australian operator Vocus has announced plans to build what it says is the country's first ducted long-haul fibre route between Sydney and Melbourne as the initial project under its new Australian Digital Infrastructure Platform (ADIP).
