Eranium brings Era-IX peering service to Telehouse data centre in Paris

Dutch company Eranium has announced that its Era-IX peering service will become available in the coming weeks at Telehouse's Paris 2 Voltaire data centre, with additional facilities to follow in the future. The service was first introduced in Amsterdam, where Eranium's customers can now connect via the Era-IX platform from multiple locations, before expanding to several sites within the Frankfurt metro area.

Mobilzone has announced an agreement with the AK Group to acquire Swiss e-commerce platform Apfelkiste.ch and the retail branding and sourcing specialist Marein for CHF 180 million altogether. The takeover strengthens mobilezone's business in Switzerland, and increases its online presence, potentially improving profitability. Apfelkiste will expand its reach through mobilezone's nationwide brick-and-mortar retail network.

Malta Communications Authority (MCA) has launched public consultations on Go's request for compensation for the cost of providing universal service obligations in the electronic communications sector during 2021. Under national law, a universal service provider can request compensation if it considers that meeting these obligations has created an unfair financial burden. In its role as designated provider, Go submitted a claim to the MCA for the net costs it said it incurred in 2021.

Alibaba posted revenue of CNY 284.8 billion (approximately USD 40.7 billion) for the quarter ended 31 December 2026, which represents an increase of 2 percent year-on-year. Income from operations reached CNY 10.6 billion, down 74 percent year-on-year, primarily due to the decrease in adjusted EBITDA. Net income reached CNY 15.6 billion, which represents a decline of 66 percent, primarily due to the decrease in income from operations.

Russian internet company Yandex said the users base of subsidiary Yandex Go's power bank rental service has exceeded 7 million, up by 50 percent year-on-year. The service was launched in February 2025 after Yandex acquired powerbank hire company Beri Nazad in December 2024. The number of charging stations has jumped by 60 percent to 60,000, mainly through franchising. The stations can be found in around 1,000 towns and cities nationwide. Talkpool Q4 sales growth exceeds 2030 target but investments dent profitability

Telecom network services provider Talkpool has announced a 20.1 percent rise in sales in the fourth quarter of 2025 to EUR 4.77 million from EUR 3.97 million in Q4 2024, exceeding the company's long-term (by 2030) growth target of 16.8 percent. The growth reflects the ramp-up of new contracts in all three regions, as well as improved utilisation of engineering capacity. Profit margins shrank as Talkpool invested in its future growth, but it expects its annual profitability trend to be positive.

Cloud Infrastructure Service Providers in Europe (CISPE) is seeking remedies against Broadcom in a complaint submitted to the European Commission's Directorate-General for EU competition rules (DG Competition). Equinix has started building its new data centre in Blanchardstown, Dublin, reports RTE News. The new DB7x facility is being built on an existing Equinix site and will not require any extra grid connectivity. Equinix will invest EUR 68 million to build the new data centre, with a further EUR 12 million investment for the build-out.

Motorola Solutions said it has acquired Exacom, a US-based provider of communications recording and cybersecurity services for public safety, from private equity firm Seaport Capital. The deal, which includes Exacom's cybersecurity subsidiary SecuLore, serves to expand Motorola's footprint in mission‑critical communications and strengthens its presence in sectors including energy, utilities, transportation and security. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Swedish telecoms regulator PTS said Lena Nyberg has been appointed as its new director-general from 01 May, taking over from Dan Sjoeblom after a transition period. She joins the watchdog from the role of director-general of the National Defence Research Institute (FOI) and will serve a six-year term. Minister of Civil Affairs Erik Slottner said Nyberg has extension experience in operational management, and referred to the altered security situation and PTS' forthcoming merger with digital governance agency
