Econet Wireless shareholders approve ZSE exit and InfraCo restructuring

Minority shareholders of Econet Wireless Zimbabwe, both institutional and retail, have voted overwhelmingly to approve the group's voluntary delisting from the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE). All resolutions received more than 95 percent support at an Extraordinary General Meeting held in Harare, NewsDay reported.

Starlink resumes new orders for business plan in Nigerian cities

Starlink has reopened new client orders in Nigeria's major cities, including Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt where it previously stopped accepting new orders. However, the resumption comes only on its higher-priced business tier. Starlink for Business has a subscription cost of NGN 150,000 per month, plus hardware at up to NGN 2.4 million. The website states that "due to high demand in areas, only priority plans are available in your area". Starlink for Business provides typical download speeds of 100–350 M

MTN Internet Bus to train 2,000 Ugandans in digital skills

MTN Uganda's philanthropic arm, the MTN Foundation, in partnership with Maendeleo Foundation, is expanding its mobile digital training initiative to reach 2,000 participants across ten communities in the 2025/26 programme. The MTN Internet Bus, a computer-equipped mobile classroom, will visit six districts in March and April, hosting ten-day training camps in Kampala, Kiryandongo, Rwampara, Bushenyi, Adjumani and Amuru. Since 2022, the Foundation has trained more than 5,933 people in 44 communities.

Rostelecom Group's revenues up, net profit down in Q4

Revenues of the Rostelecom Group totaled RUB 270.5 bilion in the fourth quarter of 2025, up by 16 percent year-on-year. OIBDA at the Russian operator grew by 19 percent to RUB 95.3 billion, and the margin reached 35.2 percent, up by 0.9 percentage points. The net profit was RUB 0.2 billion, down from RUB 4.7 billion in October to December 2024.

Beeline Kyrgyzstan said that it plans to stop offering the SIM delivery service from 09 March. The option is still available for B2C customers on the website of the operator. The operator invites customers to activate eSIMs instead, an option available directly on the operator's mobile app.

Orange Maroc introduced the new Yo Max 5G mobile plans, offering customers a choice of six mobile data plans priced between MAD 99 and MAD 649 per month. They come with 25 GB up to 160 GB of data or unlimited data, as well as an increasing number of OTT services to choose from, such as OSN+, Viu, Blacknut or Anghami, and a data roaming allowance starting from the 80 GB plan for MAD 299. Subscribers can manage their plan via the Maxit app.

T-Mobile Poland has started pre-sales of the Samsung Galaxy S26 smartphones in its shops. Customers also can the Galaxy Buds4.The smartphones start at a promotional price of PLN 4,499 for the S26, rising to PLN 5,399 from 11 March. The S26+ starts at PLN 5,599, and the S26 Ultra is available for PLN 6,499, including a special PLN 900 discount on the 512 GB version (PLN 7,399 from 11 March). The 16 GB/1 TB model is available for PLN 7,399 promotional price and will increase to PLN 8,699 later.

Online.nl to raise prices in April for broadband, TV

Dutch ISP Online.nl, part of the Canal Plus group, is increasing prices for broadband and TV customers from April. Customers on the KPN DSL or fibre networks will pay EUR 0.50 more each month, while prices on the Delta Fiber network go up by EUR 1 per month. As a result prices vary from EUR 49 per month for 30 Mbps DSL to EUR 79 for 500 Mbps over Delta Fiber.

Budget Thuis to raise prices in March

Dutch provider Budget Thuis is increasing prices for existing broadband, TV and fixed telephony customers by 3.3 percent from March. The annual price hike is based on the inflation rate reported by the statistics agency CBS.

Telia Estonia to discontinue customer service mobile app

Telia Estonia said that it plans to close its customer service mobile application Telia Minu from 15 April. The app has few users, as the majority of customer prefer the online self-service system, which offers signifiantly more functions. The app Telia Minu often simply routes customers to the web portal in many cases. The operator will continue supporting and developing Telia TV app.

Gebeya launches Dala AI tools on M-Pesa in Ethiopia

M-Pesa Ethiopia has partnered with Gebeya, an AI-powered creator platform, to launch the Dala AI Bundle, a new subscription product that allows Ethiopians to access AI creation tools through the mobile money platform. Gebeya users can pay for the AI tools using their M-Pesa wallet, removing the need for credit cards and making artificial intelligence accessible to anyone with a mobile phone.

Zenlynx picks MaxLinear's Sierra radio SoC for indoor O-RU unit

Zenlynx has selected MaxLinear's Sierra single-chip RF system-on-chip (SoC) to power its upcoming indoor open radio unit (O-RU) product. The MaxLinear SoC is an eight-port model designed to reduce signal complexity and power usage. Zenlynx's RRU4401S is pitched as a next-generation O-RU suited to indoor 4G and 5G coverage in space-constrained environments with evolving capacity requirements. The device will be marketed to neutral-host deployments and other enterprise and venue use cases.

Lithuania plans broadband deregulation in 24 municipalities

Lithuanian telecommunications regulator RRT has decided to reduce regulation in the wholesale fixed internet market on fibre-optic networks. This follows a market analysis indicating that competition is sufficient in 24 municipalities across the country. Nevertheless, the regulation will remain in place in the majority of the country's area, in 36 municipalities.

Ukrainian operator Kyivstar, a subsidiary of the Veon Group, said that its has acquired the regional ISP Shtorm. The ISP provides services in the Kirovograd region. Its services are available in the city of Kropivnitskiy, in the town of Oleksandriya, as well as in 132 surrounding sites. The subscriber base of the ISP totals more than 50,000, Shtorm owns PON, FTTB and Wimax networks.
