Comcast Xfinity runs Jurassic Park-themed ad campaign during Super Bowl

Comcast has announced an advertising campaign by Xfinity brand at the 2026 'Super Bowl' men's American football match, which takes place on 08 February. The campaign is part of the 'Xfinity Imagine That' platform and presents Universal Pictures' 1993 film 'Jurassic Park' as if it might have been if Xfinity's Wi-Fi, mobile and smart home connectivity had been available then. Millions of viewers are expected to watch the game between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots on NBC and Peacock.

O2 Czech Republic refreshes Neo+ tariff line

O2 Czech Republic has refreshed its tariff line Neo+, increasing the data bundles and speeds. Customers are also offered coupons for up to CZK 7,000 off new devices. Under the Neo+ Blue and Neo+ Bronze tariffs, the operator is increasing the data volume by 2 GB, so customers will now receive 6 GB and 14 GB of data respectively. Under the Neo+ Silver tariff, the speed increases from 10 Mbps to 15 Mbps, and Neo+Gold rises from 20 Mbps to 40 Mbps.

Vodacom Tanzania revenue rises 20% in Q3

Vodacom Tanzania said its revenue increased by 19.8 percent year-on-year to TZS 484.0 billion in the fiscal third quarter ended December 2025. Net profit fell 33.4 percent to TZS 35.5 billion, weighed down by extra costs for a major network upgrade project and forex losses, while EBITDA rose 24.7 percent to TZS 185.0 billion, and the EBITDA margin reached 38.2 percent, up from 36.7 percent. Capital expenditure jumped 178.8 percent to TZS 79.7 billion.

Spain intends to ban children under 16 from using social media platforms, the country's prime minister Pedro Sánchez announced at an event in Dubai, joining a growing number of countries tightening online age restrictions. The European Payments Initiative (EPI) said that Vipps MobilePay (Norway and Denmark), Bancomat (Italy), Bizum (Spain) and SIBS (Portugal) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to accelerate the roll-out of sovereign, pan-European payment services. The signatories are already members of the the EuroPA Alliance. EPI is behind the pan-European wallet Wero, which operates in Benelux, France and Germany. They aim to establish an interoperability hub in the first half of 2026.

Norwegian telecoms regulator Nkom said it has asked Telia and Ice for more information about their plans to combine their Radio Access Networks in a joint venture. Director John-Eivend Velure said facilitating three competing networks has been central to its regulatory work and it will be taking a look at the two operators' frequency permits. The Competition Authority (Konkurransetilsynet) will have a central role in assessing the venture, Nkom added.

Enterprise voice provider AudioCodes grew Q4 revenues 1.6 percent year-on-year to USD 62.6 million, amid continued momentum across its dual growth engines, namely its Live managed UCaaS and CX offering and its conversational AI line-up.
