3 UK unveils iPad pricing, contract options
3 UK has announced availability of additional pricing options for iPad with Wi-Fi + 3G from 03 December, when purchased with a fixed contract data service plan. The iPad with Wi-Fi + 3G 16GB is available for GBP 199 with a GBP 25 per month contract (24 months) with 15 GB monthly data allowance. It is also available for GBP 529 with a Sim-only data plan. The iPad with Wi-Fi + 3G 32GB costs GBP 199 with a 24-month GBP 25 contract (15 GB data a month), or GBP 599 with a Sim-only data plan. The iPad with Wi-Fi + 3G 64GB is available for GBP 349 with a 24-month GB 25 plan (15 GB data a month) or GBP 699 with a Sim-only data plan. The iPad is currently only available to buy from 3 in-store. Charges of GBP 0.10 per MB will be applied if inclusive data allowance is exceeded.

The device has a 4.2-in touchscreen, Reality Display with Mobile Bravia engine and is based on the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system. Sylvia Chind, Head of Branded Devices for the operator, said it would be a great addition to 3's range of smartphones. Information on pricing and availability will be announced soon.

3 UK is now selling the Sony Ericsson X8 touchscreen Android smartphone. The device has a 3.2-megapixel camera and allows customers to personalise their handset by downloading thousands of apps from the Android Market. It is available from GBP 15 a month, on The One Plan with All You Can Eat Internet, 5000 texts and 5000 Three to Three minutes for GBP 25 per month, and on PAYG for GBP 99.99.

3 UK removes data restrictions on The One Plan

3 UK has removed data limits from The One Plan to give customers all-they-can-eat data. The change is aimed at giving customers peace of mind when it comes to data use on their smartphones. When The One Plan was launched in July, it offered a 1 GB data allowance each month. The One Plan now offers customers 2,000 any-network minutes, 5,000 Three-to-Three minutes, 5,000 texts and unlimited data from GBP 25 per month.

3 UK has teamed with Opera Software to make the Opera Mini web browser available to its customers. The Opera Mini software is now available for download to mobile phones from the Three portal.
