Actility and Blink tie up for Swedish national IoT grid

Lower Power Wide Area Networks (LPWAN) provider Actility and Blink Services, the Swedish company offering connectivity through its LoRaWAN network and smart city services, said they are working together to launch a national IoT network in Sweden. Blink Services has launched its network in Helsingborg and Landskrona, and several other cities are standing by for installation. The network will pave the way for socioeconomic benefits including smart traffic services that reduce fuel consumption and pollution while increasing road safety, and smart farming, the companies said.

These services will be underpinned by Actility’s location technologies such as IoT geolocation and tracking. Blink has also developed its own applications in cooperation with the sister company, Blinkfyrar, the Swedish road sign supplier. They have devised a product called Signsensor, which detects if a road sign is damaged and alerts engineers to repair it.
