Actility opens IoT Lab in Paris, plans more testing facilities for 2018

Low-power wide area (LPWA) network specialist Actility announced the opening of a testing lab located in the French capital’s ninth arrondissement. Named ThingPark Lab, the facility will enable developers to connect, test and prepare for market their devices and applications over LTE-M, NB-IoT and LoRaWAN access. The company said that the Paris Lab is the first of a number to be opened this year in partnership with clients around the world.

Alongside Actility’s ThingPark platform, 3GPP-compatible network elements, modules and sensors from a range of industry partners will also be available at the sites for the benefit of developers.

Actility supplies ThingPark Wireless platform for Oresundskraft IoT network

Low-power wide area (LPWA) netwo­rk specialist Actility said it will be working with Oresundskraft, the Swedish electricity and fibre network operator to deploy a LoRaWAN IoT communication network at the Helsingborg Open City Hub. Actility said this could be the first of many such deployments in Sweden under the auspices of the StadshubbsAlliansen (City Hub Alliance).

Actility has unveiled a new IoT connectivity platform at Mobile World Congress (MWC2018), aimed specially at enterprise applications. The company said that the ThingPark Enterprise platform will enable industrial customers to transform raw data into insight. Customers will be able to manage the data and route it to their chosen cloud platforms with a simple dashboard, and scale their network simply and rapidly to meet evolving business needs.

Actility and Idemia (formerly known as OT-Morpho) announced that they will join forces to integrate two of Idemia's solutions into Actility's ThingPark platform. The partnership covers Idemia's M-Connect, a subscription management service that handles eSIM credentials, and M-Trust Secure Services, a platform for device activation and lifecycle management for LoRaWAN and LTE-based IoT networks.
