Airtel Nigeria has launched a new roaming service that will enable its subscribers to receive free incoming calls when roaming in five major countries across five continents. With the service SmartROAM, Airtel customers travelling to the UK, US, UAE, South Africa and Saudi Arabia will be able to receive call free when they roam on preferred partner networks in these countries. The service is currently available when roaming on the networks Zain in Saudi Arabia, Cell C and Vodacom in South Africa, Orange and Vodafone in the UK, AT&T in the US and Etisalat in the UAE. More networks will be included in the near future, Airtel said. To activate the SmartROAM service, a customer needs to recharge with a minimum NGN 5,000 within a calendar month and he/she can enjoy free incoming calls for 30 days.
