AIS H1 profit grows 7.6%, passes 40 mln mobile subs milestone

Thai mobile operator AIS saw its second-quarter total revenue reach THB 42.22 billion, which represents an increase of 8.1 percent year-on-year. Service revenue in was THB 36.30 billion, up 9.3 percent year-on-year, mainly driven by growth of fixed broadband and the full-quarter recognition of CSL revenue and equipment rental, AIS said. Second-quarter EBITDA jumped 11 percent year-on-year to THB 18.99 billion, with EBITDA margin at 45 percent, compared to 43.8 percent in June 2017. Net profit was THB 8 billion, up 11 percent year-on-year and flat quarter-on-quarter.
