Alcatel has licensed US-based developer of disposable and recyclable cell phones Hop-On under its GSM and GPRS patent portfolio. Under the royalty bearing agreement, Alcatel has granted Hop-On a worldwide, non-exclusive license under Alcatel's patents to manufacture, sell and/or use wireless devices in accordance with the standards applicable to GSM and GPRS technologies. It is the second deal for Hop-On with a large European mobile handset maker in a week. Earlier the company won a deal with Siemens.
